With All Due Disrespect.......: Top Albums of 2012 That Noone Gave A FUCK About

Like I said in my last post, most of these blogs and music journalists stay dickriding whoever got the most buzz instead of breaking new artists.

That's why I'm in a silk robe eating a bowl of steel cut oats posting this cause it looks like you internet niggas need guidance. Consider me your hip-hop moses. (Random: If I hear you motherfuckers saying "ya bish" one more time we're all going to die. All of us.)

So as promised, there will be no Kendrick, no Frank Ocean, no Nas. If you're looking for a year-end list that will validate your taste I apologize. You fuck nigga you.

And just in case you forgot the motto, Fuck Andre. If any album has a Andre verse on it, it's disqualified.

Starting off with....

Polyester the Saint: Real Deal P

Polyester is probably the smoothest nigga out right now. Real shit. He came up being the main producer for Dom Kennedy's best mixtapes (FutureStreet/DrugSounds and From The Westside With Love, by the way. Not that trash Yellow Album....oops). Polyester's style is pure west coast to the core. Picture Mac Dre if he was taught how to play the keyboard by George Duke.....then blessed with the hook-making abilities of Nate Dogg. Featuring verses from Skeme (check his album out too), Freddie Gibbs (Zzzzzz), Casey Veggies, and Jay 305 (the Too Short of our generation). Please get this mixtape my nigga. If you want that lyrical shit stay away though.

Matter fact if you want that lyrical shit you shouldn't even be here. You ain't a hip hop fan, you're a wannabe. BEGONE, wannabe. BEGONE

If you're lazy.....

Next up

Rockie Fresh - Driving 88

Long before getting signed to Maybach Music, Rockie dropped one of the best produced mixtapes of the year. I was debating putting this album up because I mean....he's signed to Maybach Music, why wouldn't people give a fuck about this? But I've seen no love for this dude regardless. Rockie has a laid back punchline style that'll probably piss you off if you're an old ass nigga. But he makes up for it with dope beat selection, a snarky personality, and good songwriting skills. You can see the influence of Kanye's "This-Title-Way-too-long-oh-my-fucking-god-you're-so-pretentious" album. What the album lacks in nuance, it makes up for with vibe.

If you're lazy.....

Wiz Khalifa - O.N.I.F.C.

Yup, I'm dead serious. There was almost no hype for this album when it came out. Other than the die-hard Wiz Khalifa fans niggas were showing no love. Which is sad, cause Wiz dropped my favorite "Mainstream" album of the year. Dead serious. Wiz Khalifa is probably the best pop-hop songwriter of the Swag-Generation.  The thing about Wiz is, he's reinvented himself so many times in his career, yet people still get surprised when he does. If you're one of the many who think Wiz khalifa didn't exist until Kush and Orange Juice popped off, then you'll be perpetually disappointed  by Wiz. Wiz realized the lack of Sledgren and Cardo are the only things holding him back from getting the critical love he deserves and went straight to work on this. Most people are going to scoff at this because he talks about the same thing. Meanwhile, you're bumping Joey Badass and Asap Rocky BUT IM CHILLING THO. The thing about Wiz Khalifa is he's one of those artists no matter how "Commercial" the song sounds, you can tell that he's having fun while recording, and it's infectious.

And if you're lazy....

Honorable mention: Danny! : Payback

I'm skeptical about putting Danny's album on here, seeing as I already posted about it and that he got major love this year. It's crazy how much people supported him, salute to the young god. His album is in my top 5 for the year, but the problem is people gave a fuck about that album, so it can't be on the list.

Moving on.....

Mellowhype - Numbers

I have no idea why Mellowhype marketed this album in such a weak way. This album is fucking great. Dead serious. Yet nobody gave a fuck about the album. The promoting was just poorly managed, you can sense the lack of focus when you read the song titles. Most of them are hard to remember and have nothing to do with the songs themselves. It's strange, because Mellowhype can be seen as the most "accessible" group in Odd Future, yet this album is very abstract and hard to follow to an extent. With Hodgy's rapid-fire over-your-head style and Left Brain's dark beats this album is confusing at first. But it's rewarding when you stop trying to make sense out of this music and just have fun with it. This is an album you can play in the car, workout to, or just chill to. If you're looking for more gimmicks in your music then Tyler's Wolf album will be out........never.

If you're lazy....

Please don't miss out on Ro Ransom - Ransomnia and Raven Sorvino - Playa Del Ray.
I've posted about these artists earlier last year and I'm still riding hard for them.

In case you missed it.....

100s - Ice Cold Perm

I'm reluctant to posting this as an album nobody gave a fuck about, because blogs were going crazy over this nigga. But  I still feel he doesn't get enough love. So whatever. As you can tell by the cover, this nigga is westcoast as fuck. So I'm obviously biased by loving this album. Look out for him.

In case you're lazy...
